Catching the Fever

I am so sorry to have skipped a few days there! My bad! I must admit I have had very serious Olympic fever the last few days and was feeling slightly under the weather so body fever, too. The good news is that I am back with the kick off to my first big project!

I have a new friend in my house (so far she is nameless, so if you have any ideas, let me know) and she is ready to help me get creative. I am going to try to make a quilt robe. If you are a super Lord of the Rings fan like me, you might know that Bilbo rocks a super cosy robe when the dwarves are arriving at his house. I want to make something similar to help me unwind at the end of the day.

To start that process, I have been first having to iron my fabric squares. I love getting fabric scraps for quilts because they are not only more environmentally friendly, but also you can get a wider range of fabrics to put together. I have started the process by having to iron all my squares...and then iron them again. I first ironed my squares to get the random wrinkles out of the fabric. I then folded the pieces into squares of the same size and ironed my creases. I am going to have to cut by hand my squares so want clear guidelines.
This project is either going to be the best thing ever or a complete waste of time and I am so excited to try creating the vision in my head! I hope everyone is enjoying the Olympics!
Love you big,
Adelaide
P.S. Peep the new hair length!
