Happy Thanksgiving and a very merry kick-off to Christmas to all who celebrate! Congrats we made it to winter for the rest! It has been a crazy few months but now is the most festive--and arguably fun--time of the year. Everyone is a little happier, the chaos seems a little more fun, and of course the weather finally drops below 80 occasionally in Texas.

This week I traveled home to get done many different jobs that my parents had decided (and since they weren't actually that bad to do) that this week would be perfect to get done. My car got a clean bill of health when she went to get serviced (yes she is a she not an it...to much personality to not have a whole identity), I sent off for my passport, and I finally finished cleaning out my childhood closet. I will admit that I have had big feelings about having to remove my presence from that room, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There were many treasures that were fun to see pop back up, but mostly it was junk that I could give away to someone who would actually use it.

For Thursday, we went to visit with my mom's parents for Thanksgiving. My grandma is a very good cook so I left about ten pounds heavier. She is the type of grandma who thinks that you are too skinny and plates huge meals three times a day. I also managed to keep my mouth closed when my grandpa and I had differing political views. Miracles do exist.

Today, though, Christmas arrived at my house...or at least started to. While there will be more pictures of some of my more exciting decor inside, today I am highlighting my outside decor. I saw it around where I live done with a small amount of garland. I went more extreme using over 150ft of garland to wrap the entire tire on the back of my car. I hope it makes someone's morning commute just a little bit merrier as we all get back to work for the next few weeks...I know it will bring a smile to my face to get in every morning and see the festive wreath. The next few weeks will be long for my job, but also I am almost done with my first semester as a teacher.

Love you big,

Adelaide
